Healthcare Access Program

Nigerian correctional facilities are severely under-resourced when it comes to healthcare. Chronic conditions go unmanaged. Infectious diseases spread unchecked. Basic medications are unavailable.

Our Healthcare Access Program bridges these gaps through quarterly medical outreaches to partner facilities:

โ–  General health screenings (blood pressure, diabetes, HIV, TB)
โ–  Dental care outreaches (extractions, fillings, hygiene education)
โ–  Eye care outreaches (screenings and prescription glasses distribution)
โ–  Medication donations (in partnership with pharmaceutical sponsors)
โ–  Health education workshops (nutrition, hygiene, sexual health)
โ–  HIV/AIDS counseling and treatment referrals
โ–  Maternal health support for incarcerated women

In 2023, our medical teams conducted outreaches at 8 facilities, screening 2,100 individuals. 340 were referred for follow-up specialist care. 1,200 pairs of reading glasses were distributed.

Physical health is dignity. Our teams go where the system does not.
